I was drawn to carving dancers because they have such toned and well developed bodies. To me the dancers can make such beautiful forms with the way they pose. It inspires me to try and recreate the beauty, the symmetry and capture the motion. Wood too has a beauty of it's own, and you are never sure how the grain is going to come out of the piece. I like to take a block of wood and create beauty in the form of a human being.
